Our client in Torrance, CA is looking for a Design Researcher to join their company immediately!
The Design Researcher will apply knowledge and experience in research to guide the development of products within the group, and across various departments.
They seek out insights through research and data analysis to provide clarity into what is required to succeed in each project, and validate that level of success at the end of each project.
Extract and Convert stakeholder needs/question into research objectives.
Lead project research activates by addressing stakeholder requirements, participating in gap analysis, prioritizing research needs, and maintaining a log of future research activities as opportunities and needs arise.
Champion strategic benchmarking activities by defining the various metrics under evaluation, to build and maintain a solid body of knowledge on competitors.
Advise, Plan and/or implement qualitative research to gather Corporate, Customer, and User insights through experienced utilization of a variety of qualitative research methodologies.
Apply research insights to the creation of design solutions as a member of a team.
Collaborate with team to plan and conduct quantitative research to gather Corporate, Customer, and User insights.
Collaborate with team to analyze, understand, and model/summarize data.
Collaborate with team to pick up and translate key insights into captivating stories that inspire and motivate others to take action.
Bachelor’s degree in a design research related field: interaction design, human computer interactions, cognitive psychology, psychology, etc. and five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in technology, consumer electronics, or automotive related research and design.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as cost benefit analysis, statistical validation and create/manipulate spread sheets for stakeholder communication purposes.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
