Job hunting Rule 11:Your desired job

I received a question from a college student who is close to graduating college. He asks, “I am majoring in journalism. Is it possible to get a job related to my major?”

Applicants who have recently registered tend to fall into one of two groups: those with a clear intention to do a specific type of job, and those who simply need any type of job. Just working out of necessity is enough as that becomes your motivation for a job, but having a distinct goal such as to make use of your major in society is very important to working.

On the other hand, it is possible to be too particular about your job search. Please be aware that candidates who are not flexible and say things like, “I don’t want to do anything other than ~ ~” are often shunned by companies. Companies look for employees who say, “I am strong with ~ ~ but I am interested in other things” rather than those who say, “I can only do ~ ~.” Even if you have a clear job in mind, being able to objectively see your potential from a different angle, along with appropriate business sense such as proper manners and attire, will lead to successful job hunting.
